Apple Pear Galette

Apple-Pear Galette
3 Gala apples
3 Ripe Pears
2 refrigerated pie crusts
½ cup of apricot preserves
3 tbsp flour
3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp ground ginger
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp allspice
1 beaten egg
Thinly slice apples and pears. Coat in a saucepan with the flour, sugar, lemon juice,and spices. Cook on low for 20 minutes until almost tender. Roll out two pie crusts, one on top of the other. Add ¼ cup apricot preserves, leaving a 2 inch border.
Pour out fruit onto pie crust and crimp the border. Brush the border with beaten egg and a tsp granulated sugar. Bake for 35 minutes on 350 until fruit is tender and crust is golden brown. Top with remaining apricot preserves.
