Two-Step Strawberry Cupcake

“No”-vember

Ecclesiastes 4:6

As we settle into November, let us observe the spiritual practice of simplifying our life. And by the way, my two-step cupcake is the simplest dessert yet!

Two- Step Cupcake

1 box of strawberry cake mix

12 oz can of soda (any flavor)

Directions:

Pour soda over cake mix and beat on medium speed just until well combined (1-2 minutes).

Pour batter into muffin tin and bake on 350 in the oven for 15 minutes. (Will cook slightly faster than cook time on the cake mix box instructions.) Makes 18 cupcakes.

Devotional:

Ecclesiastes 4:6

“ Better is a handful with quiet than two handfuls with toil and a chasing after wind“

We think sometimes that ‘more is more’, but sometimes ‘less is more’.  Let us focus on the most important thing, committing to being a disciple of Jesus Christ, and let everything else flow from there.

And as we order those things that come behind our Lord, let us really examine how we are focusing and giving up our time, of our talent, of our resources, of our energy.  And the other things…we need to learn to say “no”.

Have you seen the meme going around saying that November should be “No”-vember? Let us observe the spiritual practice of observing what is important to us, and also saying “no”.
